wedding time warp

Where do i even begin about this day? I started the morning with my usual barre class on Saturday & a few sets of stairs. The humidity was insane and the sun was scorching, i thought the day would be a doozy for sure. Got ready in a light and airy outfit and packed sunscreen just to be safe. On my way to Norton Shores the sun quickly cover and the rain- no, downpour- began. I always keep a cute clear bubble umbrella in my car so i was immediately excited to use it, and over cast weather is any photographers dream. Once i reached the lake shore the temperature had dropped and the humidity disappeared. Once i got there i immediately felt like i was transported back in time to someones childhood home in the early 2000's, in the best possible way. The day was short but personal and intimate, every detail felt so special. The rain drizzling over the flower baskets on the tables, the wicker furniture and cushions set up in the back yard, the hanging lights above & the brick walkway leading up to an arbor placed perfectly in front of these beautiful trees with deer trailing in the background felt so nostalgic to me. Justin & Daphne kept their day special and celebrated with close friends and family in their back yard, you could feel that everyone who traveled to be there (some from far) meant a lot to them and their unconditional love was reciprocated. Every time I look at these images (come on, they speak for themselves) i feel that same sense of nostalgia that i did shooting their day, and thats a special part of this job.
