Old money engagement session
When brainstorming a location for your engagement session, location & aesthetic is key. You want your engagement photos to highlight not only you & your partner but to also set the tone for your wedding day.
Pinterest & Google are hot search engines to find the perfect vibe for your session location. When Carol told me she found photos from the Michigan state capital in Lansing, we knew we had to go. A weeks planning & an hour drive from Grand Rapids & we were there.
Black details & old money aesthetic were the theme for these images to bring out what's to come on Carol & Gibran's wedding day. Taking place at Alaska Haus in the fall, this felt like perfect places to bring the vision to life. The concrete architecture, Victorian pillars & winding stair cases evoked the perfect energy & vibe that we were aiming for in these photos. Leaning more towards a chic editorial vibe with a touch of old Hollywood, they brought the heat with a traditional black & white bridal scheme. The important variety in this gallery starts with color, meets black & white & ended with flash photographs to bring a vintage feel after the sun went down.
In classic & timeless fashion we wrapped up this shoot and headed to Raising Canes to end the night, one of the highlights I must say to driving to Lansing. With only an hour drive from Grand Rapids I'm sure I will be visiting again very soon, this is your sign to ask your photographer if they are willing to travel!
(It's me, I'm your new photographer)
