first beach session of the year!
Driving to Holland to a nail appointment last week turned into my first *impromptu* beach session of the summer! (My favorite)
I've been having Lexi do my nails for the last year or so and she never fails to impress me! Seriously, she can do like anything and makes it look so easy.
I love yapping with her about my current travel bad luck, trash TV or crazy client stories that happen to me while shooting. I drove to Holland and brought my camera with just incase (how can I not when I'm that close to the perfect Lake Michigan beaches) I just got a new lens in the mail that I was dying to use. I posted a model call on my Instagram and Facebook, but no luck. In the midst of my orange checker board flame nails she said "if you don' find anyone to fill the model call let me know me and my boyfriend would love to!" I immediately said no its ALL yours!
The spontaneity of this session made it all the more special. We had the PERFECT sunset, not a crowded beach & the wind was a paid actor while capturing these two. They went along with all my crazy ideas, new posing prompts & evening rolling around in the sand together (one of my FAV prompts for my couples) and the outcome was to die for. If you follow any of my socials (you should be!) you know that I haven't been able to stop posting these! I love summer sessions, especially Midwest summers, and particularly sunset couples portraits. If you're down to get wet and sandy at the beach, I'm your girl!
